Hot vs cold tumours
'Hot' tumours are full of immune cells and respond to immunotherapy; 'cold' tumours have kept the immune system out.
Immune phenotypes: inflamed, immune-excluded (T cells at the margin, TGF-β/stroma), immune-desert. Pancreatic, prostate, glioblastoma, and most HR+ breast cancers are cold. Turning cold to hot is the goal of radiation, vaccines, ISACs, STING agonists, and oncolytic viruses.
