Immunogenic cell death

Immunogenic cell death is a way of dying that alerts the immune system, unlike quiet apoptosis.

Marked by calreticulin exposure, ATP and HMGB1 release, type I interferon. Induced by anthracyclines, oxaliplatin, radiation, some ADC payloads, oncolytic viruses, photoimmunotherapy. Basis for chemo-IO and ADC-IO synergy.
