Düsseldorf's university hospital, a partner in the CIO cancer centre alliance and a leading site for FAPI and PSMA imaging under Frederik Giesel.

University Hospital Düsseldorf forms, with Aachen, Bonn and Cologne, the Centrum für Integrierte Onkologie (CIO ABCD), a German Cancer Aid Oncology Center of Excellence. Its nuclear medicine department is directed by Frederik Giesel, co-inventor of FAPI PET tracers at Heidelberg, and runs theranostic programmes in prostate and neuroendocrine cancers. The hospital has a large paediatric oncology and haematology department, hepatology and liver cancer programmes, and neurosurgical oncology. Trials from the CIO network give patients access to early-phase immunotherapy and cell therapy studies.
