Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University
Thailand's oldest and largest hospital, with the country's leading academic oncology, haematology and hepatobiliary programmes and a new proton-equipped cancer centre.
Siriraj Hospital was founded in 1888 by King Chulalongkorn and is the flagship of Mahidol University's Faculty of Medicine and Thailand's largest hospital. Its oncology strengths include hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma, haematology and stem cell transplant, breast and head and neck surgery, and radiation oncology, and it is one of the most active Thai sites for international registration trials. The Siriraj Piyamaharajkarun campus and the Siriraj Center of Excellence in cancer research support genomics under the Genomics Thailand initiative and cell therapy development, including locally manufactured CAR-T studies. It also hosts Thailand's largest palliative care and cancer nursing training programmes.
