Eastern India's leading cancer hospital, opened by the Tata Trusts in 2011 with a strong paediatric and haematology programme and a translational research institute.

Tata Medical Center opened in New Town, Kolkata, in 2011 as a not-for-profit cancer hospital funded by the Tata Trusts to serve eastern India, Bangladesh and Nepal, with half its beds reserved for subsidised care. It provides the full range of surgical, medical, radiation and paediatric oncology, has one of India's largest paediatric haematology-oncology and bone marrow transplant programmes, and runs the Tata Translational Cancer Research Centre for genomics, immunology and health-economics research. The centre participates in national and international cooperative trials (including the Indian Pediatric Oncology Group and the National Cancer Grid) and hosts a nursing and DM/MCh training programme.
