Nationwide Children's Hospital
Columbus children's hospital with a leading paediatric cancer genomics institute and pioneering oncolytic virus trials in childhood sarcomas.
Nationwide Children's Hospital, affiliated with The Ohio State University, is one of the largest paediatric hospitals in the US and hosts the Abigail Wexner Research Institute. Its Steve and Cindy Rasmussen Institute for Genomic Medicine, led since 2016 by Elaine Mardis and Richard Wilson (who had directed the first cancer genome sequencing at Washington University), sequences every child with cancer or a suspected genetic disorder and is a founding member of the Children's Brain Tumor Network. Timothy Cripe ran the first paediatric trials of oncolytic herpes simplex virus in sarcomas, and Ryan Roberts's laboratory studies osteosarcoma metastasis. The hospital is a major Children's Oncology Group site and offers CAR-T and transplant.
