Geneva University Hospitals (HUG)

aka HUG, Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève, Centre des cancers HUG

Geneva's university hospital, partner in the Swiss Cancer Center Léman and an early European centre for CAR-T in brain tumours.

The Geneva University Hospitals cancer centre coordinates oncology across Switzerland's largest public hospital and is part of the Swiss Cancer Center Léman with Lausanne. Pierre-Yves Dietrich built its immuno-oncology programme, and Denis Migliorini's neuro-oncology group develops CAR-T cells against glioblastoma, one of the first academic efforts in Europe; the breast centre, haematology and translational research groups at the University of Geneva contribute to Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research trials. The hospital houses the Geneva Cancer Registry, Switzerland's oldest population-based registry, and its proximity to WHO headquarters supports global oncology work.
