Hamad Medical Corporation / National Center for Cancer Care and Research

aka HMC, NCCCR, Al Amal Hospital, مؤسسة حمد الطبية

Qatar's public health system, whose National Center for Cancer Care and Research is the country's sole comprehensive cancer centre and the hub of its national cancer strategy.

Hamad Medical Corporation, established in 1979, runs Qatar's public hospitals, and its National Center for Cancer Care and Research (formerly Al Amal Hospital) is the national cancer centre delivering medical, surgical and radiation oncology, haematology and bone marrow transplant, palliative care and a growing clinical trials programme. Qatar's National Cancer Strategy and National Cancer Program, with Sidra Medicine for paediatrics and the Qatar Biobank and Qatar Genome Programme for research, position HMC as a testbed for population genomics and early-detection initiatives in an Arab population, and NCCCR has been accredited by the Joint Commission and partners with academic centres in Europe and North America on training and trials.
