Columbia's NCI comprehensive cancer centre, strong in lymphoma genetics, systems biology of cancer and the discovery of ferroptosis.

NCI-designated since 1972, the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center is the cancer centre of Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian in Upper Manhattan. Riccardo Dalla-Favera defined BCL6 and the genetic lesions of B-cell lymphoma; Andrea Califano's systems biology of master regulators spun out DarwinHealth; Brent Stockwell discovered and named ferroptosis in 2012; Adolfo Ferrando dissected T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Dawn Hershman leads SWOG's cancer care delivery research from here, and Siddhartha Mukherjee, author of The Emperor of All Maladies, runs a leukaemia laboratory. Director Anil Rustgi is a GI cancer biologist.
