Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
The Gulf's most advanced private academic hospital, whose Fatima bint Mubarak Center opened in 2023 as the UAE's first integrated cancer centre with proton therapy planned.
Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi opened on Al Maryah Island in 2015 as a Mubadala-owned hospital run by the US Cleveland Clinic, replicating its institute model and physician-led culture. In 2023 it opened the Fatima bint Mubarak Center, a purpose-built integrated cancer centre offering medical, surgical and radiation oncology, haematology and bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, theranostics and precision oncology with molecular tumour boards linked to Cleveland Clinic's Taussig Cancer Institute, and it is developing proton therapy for the UAE. The hospital's research and innovation units run clinical trials and AI-in-oncology projects and it serves as a regional destination for complex cancer surgery and multi-organ transplant.
