Stand Up To Cancer

aka SU2C

An entertainment-industry charity that funds multi-institution Dream Teams, with AACR as scientific partner, to move discoveries into trials quickly.

Founded in 2008 by film and television leaders, Stand Up To Cancer raises money through televised specials and channels it through the American Association for Cancer Research, its scientific partner, into Dream Teams that bring institutions together around a single translational goal with milestone-based funding. Dream Teams have covered prostate cancer (with the Prostate Cancer Foundation), pancreatic cancer (with the Lustgarten Foundation), lung cancer, paediatric cancer, immunotherapy and early detection, and SU2C also funds Innovative Research Grants and a Health Equity Initiative to diversify trial enrolment. Stand Up To Cancer Canada and UK partnerships extend the model.
