Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine
Berlin's Helmholtz molecular medicine institute, whose cancer research spans T-cell receptor therapies, single-cell biology and systems medicine.
Founded in 1992 on the Berlin-Buch campus, the Max Delbrück Center is a Helmholtz Association institute that works closely with Charité through the Experimental and Clinical Research Center and the Berlin Institute of Health. Thomas Blankenstein's group developed T-cell receptor gene therapy approaches that led to the spin-out T-knife, and the Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology under Nikolaus Rajewsky is a centre for single-cell and spatial transcriptomics. Other groups study cancer genomics, oncogenic signalling, tumour immunology and MYC-driven lymphoma. The centre contributes to the DKTK and the German Human Cell Atlas efforts.
