Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation

Founded in 1946 in memory of the writer Damon Runyon, the foundation supports young scientists at the riskiest stage of their careers through Fellowship, Clinical Investigator, Physician-Scientist Training and Innovation awards, on the view that bold early bets pay off. Its alumni have gone on to lead cancer centres and to win the Nobel Prize, and its Clinical Investigator Award protects time for physician-scientists to run trials. Damon Runyon funds across all cancers and all approaches and spends every dollar donated on research, with administrative costs covered by its endowment.
