Aichi Cancer Center
Nagoya's prefectural cancer centre with a research institute known for cancer epidemiology, molecular carcinogenesis and gastrointestinal oncology.
Aichi Cancer Center was founded in 1964 as a prefectural cancer hospital with an integrated research institute and is one of Japan's core cancer centres. Its Research Institute has a long tradition in cancer epidemiology (the HERPACC hospital-based case-control study), molecular carcinogenesis and the biology of gastric and lung cancer, including early ALK and EGFR resistance work, while the hospital is a leading Japanese site for gastric, oesophageal, colorectal, breast and haematological cancer trials and endoscopic resection. It participates in JCOG and WJOG and in the SCRUM-Japan genomic screening network. Patients can access a comprehensive genome profiling service and early-phase trials.
