Kyushu University Hospital

Kyushu University Hospital in Fukuoka is the largest academic hospital in western Japan and the base of many Kyushu-area cooperative trials. Its Department of Surgery and Science has a long tradition in gastric and oesophageal cancer surgery and living-donor liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma, and its haematology and medical oncology groups lead Japanese lymphoma and myeloma studies. Kyushu University's research institutes contribute to cancer biology (including the discovery of the RET fusion in lung cancer in collaboration with NCC Japan) and to medical AI. The hospital is a core institution for genome medicine and offers early-phase trials and cell therapy.
