UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center
Northern California's inland NCI comprehensive centre, notable for comparative oncology with the UC Davis veterinary school and for SWOG leadership.
NCI-designated in 2002 and comprehensive since 2012, UC Davis serves California's Central Valley and Sierra region. Its comparative oncology programme runs trials in pet dogs with naturally occurring cancers alongside the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, a model for accelerating immunotherapy and radiotherapy development. Director Primo Lara is a long-standing SWOG leader in genitourinary and lung cancer trials. The centre also hosts a large lung cancer programme and community outreach to rural and agricultural populations.
