Northern Portugal's dedicated cancer hospital, an OECI-accredited comprehensive cancer centre known for hereditary cancer genetics and epigenetic biomarkers.

IPO Porto is the public cancer hospital and research institute for northern Portugal and holds OECI accreditation as a comprehensive cancer centre. Its cancer genetics department under Manuel Teixeira is a national reference for hereditary breast, ovarian and gastric cancer syndromes, and Rui Henrique and Carmen Jerónimo's epigenetics group developed DNA methylation biomarkers for prostate and other cancers. The hospital delivers surgery, radiotherapy including brachytherapy, medical oncology, haematology with transplantation and CAR-T, and paediatric oncology, and runs a large tumour bank and a portfolio of academic and industry trials. It coordinates the Porto Comprehensive Cancer Center with the University of Porto's i3S institute.
