Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group

aka CCLG, UKCCSG, UK Children's Cancer Study Group

The UK and Ireland's professional body and trials network for children's cancer; nearly every child treated for cancer in the UK is cared for by a CCLG centre.

Founded in 1977 as the UK Children's Cancer Study Group and renamed in 2006 after merging with the UK childhood leukaemia working party, CCLG links the 20 principal treatment centres in the UK and Ireland. It coordinates national participation in international paediatric trials (UKALL leukaemia trials, SIOP renal and brain tumour protocols, Euro Ewing), maintains the national tissue bank and registry, publishes parent and patient information, and funds research through the CCLG charity. Children treated in the UK access trials of new agents through CCLG's early-phase network and its links with COG and SIOP Europe.
