SSGXVIII/AIO (adjuvant imatinib in GIST)
In SSGXVIII/AIO, three years of imatinib after surgery, rather than one, improved survival in high-risk GIST.
5-year RFS 65.6% vs 47.9% (HR 0.46); 5-year OS 92.0% vs 81.7% (HR 0.45); 10-year follow-up confirmed OS benefit (HR 0.55). Trials of 5-6 years (SSG XXII, IMADGIST) suggest further RFS benefit.
