AR-V7 splice variant
A truncated form of the androgen receptor that is permanently switched on and ignores hormone-blocking pills.
Lacks the ligand-binding domain; detected in circulating tumour cells (Epic Sciences nuclear AR-V7 test) and associated with resistance to abiraterone/enzalutamide but preserved taxane sensitivity. Rationale for N-terminal domain inhibitors (masofaniten, failed) and AR degraders.
