Hyperthermia

Hyperthermia heats tumours to 40-43 °C to make radiation and chemotherapy work better.

Regional and deep hyperthermia improve outcomes with radiotherapy in cervical cancer, recurrent breast cancer, and soft-tissue sarcoma (EORTC 62961). Magnetic nanoparticle hyperthermia (NanoTherm) is approved in Europe for glioblastoma. Underused outside Germany and the Netherlands.
