Wuhan's other national-level teaching hospital, notable for its cancer centre's breast, lymphoma and radiotherapy programmes and for proton therapy.

Wuhan Union Hospital was founded in 1866 by the London Missionary Society and is a national regional medical centre attached to Tongji Medical College. Its Cancer Center is among the larger oncology units in central China with strong breast cancer, lymphoma and myeloma, thoracic and radiation oncology programmes, and it operates one of the country's newer proton therapy centres. The hospital is a common lead site for Chinese haematology trials, including CAR-T for myeloma and lymphoma, and for breast cancer ADC studies.
