Sheba Medical Center
Israel's largest hospital, whose cancer centre led the POLO trial of olaparib in pancreatic cancer and runs one of the world's few TIL therapy programmes.
Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer describes itself as the largest hospital in Israel and hosts the Jusidman Cancer Center. Talia Golan led the POLO trial that established maintenance olaparib for germline BRCA-mutated pancreatic cancer, the Ella Lemelbaum Institute for Immuno-Oncology under Jacob Schachter, Michal Besser and Gal Markel has treated melanoma patients with tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes since 2006, and the haematology division runs point-of-care CAR-T manufacturing. Sheba's ARC innovation centre and its large breast, gastrointestinal, thoracic and paediatric oncology services make it Israel's most active oncology trial site, and its Sackler-affiliated researchers publish widely on precision oncology.
