NCT/UCC Dresden – University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus

NCT/UCC Dresden was founded in 2015 as a partnership between the DKFZ, the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, TU Dresden's medical faculty and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. The OncoRay centre and the University Proton Therapy Dresden facility (treating since 2014) pursue biologically adapted, image-guided and laser-driven particle therapy; the DKFZ's chairman Michael Baumann previously directed radiation oncology there. The Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health hosts groups such as Jakob Nikolas Kather's on deep learning in pathology, and the hospital's surgical oncology programme develops AI-assisted surgery. Clinical strengths include haematology and transplantation, gastrointestinal surgery and precision oncology through a DKTK-wide molecular tumour board.
