BEAT-meso (ETOP 13-18)

Adding atezolizumab to bevacizumab-chemotherapy slowed progression but did not lengthen survival overall; it did help patients with non-epithelioid tumours.

OS primary endpoint not met in the whole population; PFS improved; OS and PFS benefit in non-epithelioid disease. Reinforces non-epithelioid histology as the subgroup most responsive to immunotherapy.
