Ramon E. Parsons

Discovered the tumour-suppressor gene PTEN, one of the most frequently lost genes in cancer.

Identified PTEN in 1997 and has since defined its roles in PI3K signalling and cancer predisposition; directs Mount Sinai's cancer institute.
