Drew Weissman

Drew Weissman is the Nobel laureate whose modified-mRNA discovery underlies mRNA vaccines and now in vivo CAR-T.

With Katalin Karikó, discovered that nucleoside modification lets mRNA evade innate immune sensing (Nobel Prize 2023). His lab works on targeted LNPs, including in vivo T-cell engineering that seeded Capstan.
