Istituto Nazionale Tumori IRCCS Fondazione G. Pascale
Southern Italy's national cancer institute, a global leader in melanoma immunotherapy trials under Paolo Ascierto.
The Fondazione Pascale is the IRCCS national cancer institute for southern Italy and one of the largest cancer hospitals in the country. Paolo Ascierto's melanoma, immunotherapy and innovative therapies unit has been a leading investigator in the CheckMate and RELATIVITY trials that established checkpoint blockade and the nivolumab-relatlimab combination in melanoma, and the institute hosts the Melanoma Bridge and Immunotherapy Bridge meetings. Nicola Normanno's molecular biology group is a reference for liquid biopsy and predictive biomarkers in lung and colorectal cancer. Clinical programmes span thoracic, gastrointestinal, breast, urological and head and neck oncology, radiotherapy and haematology, with a phase 1 unit and a Campania-wide oncology network role.
