Istanbul University Institute of Oncology
Istanbul University's oncology institute at the Çapa campus, a major Turkish centre for breast, paediatric and radiation oncology training and research.
Established in 1982 within Istanbul University, the Institute of Oncology combines clinical departments of medical, radiation and paediatric oncology with basic oncology, cancer epidemiology and prevention. Its breast cancer programme under investigators such as Adnan Aydıner and Pınar Saip is one of the largest in Turkey, Rejin Kebudi's paediatric oncology unit is a national referral centre, and the institute trains a large share of Turkish oncologists. It participates in Turkish Oncology Group and international trials, runs molecular pathology and genetic counselling services, and works with the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine's surgical and nuclear medicine departments.
