American Cancer Society (ACS)
The American Cancer Society is the largest US cancer charity: the source of the widely quoted annual US cancer statistics, screening recommendations that differ from the USPSTF in places, and plain-language patient guides for every cancer.
Founded 1913. Publishes Cancer Statistics annually in CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians (the most-cited oncology paper each year), Cancer Facts & Figures (including disparity-focused editions), and screening guidelines (e.g. colorectal screening from 45, 2018; lung, breast, cervical, prostate). Runs the Cancer Prevention Studies cohorts (CPS-II/3), the National Cancer Information Center (1-800-227-2345), Hope Lodge, Road To Recovery, and ACS CAN advocacy. Its patient content is a benchmark for readability.
